An Evacuee Recovery Meeting for those directly impacted by the Lions Manor fire and their families has been scheduled for 3:00pm today at Parkgate Community Centre. The meeting will include:

Parkgate will provide wrist bands to any Lions Manor resident who needs access to a shower, laundry service, or refreshments this afternoon.

A Lions Manor Community Support Hub for the evacuees will be set up in the coming days at Parkgate Community Centre. While we appreciate donation offers, no physical donations are being accepted at this time.

Deep Cove Fire Update
Of the 66 residents evacuated, approximately 10 will be staying in group lodging and a few in hotel rooms. The remainder of evacuees are staying with friends and family. There was 0% hotel availability on the North Shore and very few rooms in Vancouver.
Approximately 8 were taken to hospital with smoke inhalation but have since been released.
All evacuees are senior citizens and some have mobility challenges.
The majority of evacuees had tenant insurance.
The EOC will be up and running until everyone has secured temporary housing for this evening, and will be reactivated tomorrow morning.
An Evacuee Recovery Meeting is scheduled for tomorrow at 3pm at Parkgate Community Centre for those directly impacted by the fire.

Deep Cove Fire Update
An update on the structure fire in Deep Cove
Firefighters are currently battling a structure fire in a 4-story, 60 unit seniors' apartment building in Deep Cove. All three North Shore fire departments are on scene.
Approximately 66 residents have been evacuated and 8 people were transported to the hospital. mostly for smoke inhalation.
An Emergency Reception Centre has been organized and temporary group lodging is being set up at Mickey McDougall for those who require it. Emergency Social Services and the Salvation Army are providing support services.
The public is being asked to avoid the area - some local roads are closed. Residents are being urged to be aware of poor air quality and keep windows and doors closed. Tap water may appear murky at this time but is still safe.
