Whyte Lake Fire Update

The fire near Whyte Lake is now under control, yet there is still active burning.

All area trails remain closed. Crews are still actively working and we ask that everyone avoid the area until further notice.

Are YOU Prepared?

May is the perfect time to check your emergency supplies  and review your emergency plan

If you are not as prepared as you would like to be, start with these important steps....

Store Emergency Water: 4 litres per person per day, for a minimum of 3 days. Bottled water is recommended.

Stock up on Emergency Food: Have a minimum 3-day supply of ready-to-eat foods that don't require refrigeration or cooking. Don't forget the the pet food!

Gather Emergency Supplies: Customize your kit to meet your family's needs. At a minimum include a First Aid kit, flashlight with extra batteries, battery powered radio, work gloves, personal sanitation supplies (garbage bags / moist towelettes), whistle, dust mask, and emergency cash.

Secure Your Home: Secure heavy items that may fall, and know where your utility shutoffs are (water, power, gas)
